Colorado’s same-day voter registration means you still have time to register and cast your ballot for Tuesday's election.
While you can still technically register to vote online on the Secretary of State's website, that is no longer recommended. Colorado's state Director of Elections Judd Choate said Monday that at this point, you're simply better off visiting your local voter center and registering in person. You can also update your voter registration or request a new ballot this way.
You can find your polling at the Secretary of State’s website under “Where do I vote or drop off my ballot?” by providing your registered voting address. You'll find the nearest drop-off box and voting center.
This year’s ballots are pretty long, so Colorado Secretary of State spokeswoman Lynn Bartels recommends looking at your sample ballot online before you head to the poll to vote in person. A list of sample ballots for each county is available online.
In order to register in person, you’ll need to visit a polling center and make sure you bring an acceptable form of identification. You will have to do this for same-day registration as well. The Secretary of State’s office has a full list of acceptable forms of ID: It could be a driver’s license, a pilot’s license or even a utility bill received within the last 60 days.
If you live in Denver, you can register and vote at the Denver Elections offices at 200 W. 14th Ave. or at voting centers across the city. The city’s mobile voting center will also be making stops around the city and will function as a voter registration site.
Ballots must be received by county clerks by 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
