Expect your commute home to be pretty cold tonight

Why, yes, the winds are picking up.

The promised very, very cold front is on its way. It was in Wyoming around 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service and will be here in the next few hours.

You can expect temps to start dropping around 5 p.m. The sharpest drop will come between 6 to 7 p.m., according to the NWS' hourly forecast tool. Tonight's low could be minus 11 degrees and winds above 20 mph will make it feel much colder. So if you need to grab any last-minute supplies, do it soon.

Remember that resources are available in Denver if you need to warm up.

The city will open the Denver Coliseum, located at 4600 Humboldt St. at 3 p.m. today. It'll be a 24-hour warming center through Friday, when temps are expected to be just a bit higher but not by much.
