In Denver, an intense late afternoon thunderstorm brought hail and the threat of flooding.
All Colorado counties east of Denver, including Adams and Arapahoe, are under a tornado watch and severe thunderstorm watch through today, June 13, at 9 p.m. Denver County itself is not under the watch.
A tornado watch is a designation issued by the National Weather Service when weather conditions could spawn tornadoes. It is less severe than a tornado warning, which would mean that tornadoes are imminent.
