Do you love burgers? Do you love beer? Do you wish someone would use brand synergy to market a burger-inspired beer to you?

Greenwood Village-based Red Robin announced Monday it is partnering with New Belgium to create the Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale, a take on the flavor profile of its pineapple and teriyaki Banzai Burger.

Now to be fair, the beer will not actually taste like a burger, the Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale will only complement the flavor profile of the burger.

The Ale contains notes of ginger, brown sugar and black malt to mimic the soy and umami in the burger. The pineapple and “burger” flavors will be achieved with chunks of pineapple and hints of Applewood smoked malt. All in all, this unique beer will weigh in at about 5.5 percent alcohol by volume.

The Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale will debut on Oct. 6-8 during the Great American Beer Festival and thereafter be served on tap in Red Robin locations throughout Colorado until supplies run out.

During a special event on the 8th, Red Robin Culinary Manager Karen Koehler and New Belgium Brewer Dave Glor will conduct a pairing of the Grilled Pineapple Golden Ale and the Banzai Burger for a group of 100 at the Beer & Food Pavilion.

The event is first-come first-serve, but you can find additional information here.
