And you thought you didn’t understand A Taste of Colorado before.
A Taste of Colorado, which is expecting half a million people to come to Civic Center to party, enjoy live music and, yes, eat, just announced that Boyz II Men, fresh off of their “Beauty School Dropout” performance in “Grease: Live,” will be the event’s musical headliner.
They will play the Main Stage on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
Friday’s musical events will be capped off with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, while the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band closes out Monday. Sunday’s headliner is still TBA.
Here’s what Boyz II Men were doing 22 years ago, when they were one of my first CDs:
A Taste of Colorado runs Fri., Sept. 2 – Mon., Sept. 5 at Civic Center. Admission is free. You can buy food, but not with money; you have to buy tickets, which you trade for food. Boyz II Men will be there. Vendors will sell arts and crafts, and there will be kids’ activities, in addition to a performance by Grammy-award winning Boyz II Men.
