This city really likes itself some amateur sports on the global stage.

On Sunday, NBC scored its second-best ratings for the Olympics in the Denver market, probably because it was time to get pumped about cycling. (Mara Abbott, the Boulder cyclist, ran and heart-smashingly lost her race that day.)

About 22 percent of Denver's primetime viewers were tuned into the network's Sunday Olympics coverage, Adweek reported. Only Salt Lake City delivered a higher percentage for Sunday's events, at least out of local U.S. markets.

On Saturday, Denver was only the fifth-most-Olympic-loving local market. Come on, people. Go inside and turn on that television.
