Donald Trump's Colorado campaign announced Monday that it had secured the support of police unions in Denver, Aurora and Colorado Springs.

The national Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Trump in September. Hillary Clinton did not seek the group's endorsement and has made criminal justice reform a central theme of her presidential campaign. Some law enforcement groups have disagreed with the decision, but in the weeks since, many local police unions have also endorsed Trump.

In a press release, Trump's senior advisor in Colorado, Patrick Davis, said the endorsements reflect Trump's support for "law and order." Trump has called for a return to "stop and frisk," a policy that courts have found to be unconstitutional, and the deportation of large numbers of illegal immigrants.

These are the quotes they included from each of the police unions:

Denver Police Protective Association President Nick Rogers: “The Denver Police Protective Association, which represents about 1,400 Denver police officers, is proud to endorse Donald J. Trump to be the next President of our great country. After thoughtful consideration we wholeheartedly believe Mr. Trump is the only candidate that will protect law-abiding citizens from those who choose to break the law. Mr. Trump’s strong support for law enforcement will help Make America Safe Again.”

Aurora Police Association President Bob Wesner: “The Aurora Police Association believes that Donald Trump’s strong support for law enforcement will ensure safer communities in Colorado and across our country. Aurora has already experienced tragedy through the “Century 16 Theater Shooting” and knows firsthand what it means to have leaders and first responders who act quickly to protect our communities. President Trump will support law enforcement and help keep the City of Aurora, the State of Colorado and the United States safe and secure.”

President Mike Singels and Executive Director Sherryl Dillon, Colorado Springs Police Protective Association: “The Board of Directors of the Colorado Springs Police Protective Association, representing the interests of its 850+ members, unanimously voted to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States of America. Donald Trump’s decisive commitment to both the safety of our citizens and respect for members of the law enforcement community are the motivating factors in providing this endorsement. We believe Mr. Trump represents the best interests of all Americans.”

Trump is in Pueblo and Loveland Monday trying to make his case to the people of Colorado as post-debate polls show Clinton pulling ahead again.
