Amendment 69, ColoradoCare, soundly defeated

A constitutional amendment that would have created a single-payer healthcare system in Colorado has been defeated.

Just 24 percent of Colorado votes have been counted, but the margin is huge.

More than 81 percent of Colorado voters said no, compared to just 19 percent who voted yes.

The measure faced a steep uphill battle as even many progressive groups came out against the plan for a variety of reasons.
