Go for a run
Mile High United Way Turkey Trot. Four-mile run/walk to benefit children and families served by Mile High United Way. Food, a beer garden and vendors post-race. Day-of registration starts at 8 a.m. Race starts at 10 a.m. Washington Park, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave. $30.
Sloan's Lake Turkey Trot. This informal event is an untimed run around Sloan's Lake. All ages welcome, as are dogs. Costumes encouraged. Organizers will be collecting nonperishable food items for Bienvenidos Food Bank and pet food for Colorado's Pet Pantry. The start/finish line will be at West 21st Avenue and Stuart Street. 9 a.m.
Harvesting Hope Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. Timed and certified 5K, with a free fun run for kids 10 and younger. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Race starts at 10:15 a.m. Stapleton Central Park, 8801 Martin Luther King Blvd. $40.
