Denver’s hottest new local music venue is the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park.

OK, it’s actually pretty cold, but the point remains: the music there is really great.

It could be something about the many young children circling and giggling on the ice that may keep one from expecting such high-quality entertainment. I am here to tell you these two concepts can co-exist.

This is Denver artist Anthony Ruptak and his brother, Matt, of Anthony Ruptak and the Midnight Friends, improvising amidst the skating.

The rink will be open through Valentines Day, with live music every Friday until it closes for the season.
