When Denver dreams of spring, it's time for cars to get battered by potholes. You know the drill: snow, a quick melt and refreeze, then a smack as you roll over a pothole.
The past year of 311 data backs that up. After we're free of the specter of snow, usually in May, complaints taper off a bit.
Here's how those potholes look on a map.

Since you have to be pretty close to see them, here's a list of the top ten:
- 300 block of W Colfax Avenue, 79 pothole complaints
- 5200 block of W Jewell AVE, 26 pothole complaints
- 1600 block of N Monaco Street Parkway, 24 pothole complaints
- 1900 block of S Sheridan Boulevard, 24 pothole complaints
- 5100 block of W Jewell Avenue, 23 pothole complaints
- 1800 block of S Sheridan Boulevard, 23 pothole complaints
- 7700 block of E Florida Avenue, 22 pothole complaints
- 6400 block of E 17th Avenue, 22 pothole complaints
- 1500 block of S Quebec Way, 21 pothole complaints
- 7900 block of E Florida Avenue, 21 pothole complaints
If you don't like the results, remember to call 311 the next time you drive over something. The city uses that information to inform street repairs.
Methodology: For this piece, I excluded pothole complaints with no geographic information included. I also did not include complaints that were created in error, outside of Denver's jurisdiction or categorized as "not enough information."
Note however, that I did not exclude duplicate complaints. In creating a map that reflected Denver's worst street for potholes, I decided that duplicate complaints for a pothole were a reflection of the pothole's severity, and therefore should factor into the street's ranking.
