Hi. Denver’s looking at a high of 71 degrees today and a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening, according to the National Weather Service. Strong thunderstorms are possible farther east.

This week, an active weather pattern may bring snow to the mountains starting Tuesday and rainstorms to the plains. Thursday and Friday may bring the strongest storms, including snow lower in the foothills. OpenSnow predicts the best potential skiing on Friday.

Until then, conditions are mounting for potential fire danger. A fire-weather watch goes into effect on Monday afternoon and evening for Denver and Adams counties and beyond.
