8 other things that Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw might find “disrespectful”

Clayton Kershaw's start against the Colorado Rockies was momentarily delayed Wednesday night. The Los Angeles Dodgers ace had to stand on the mound and wait as Rockies starter Tyler Anderson went from the Rockies bullpen in right field to Colorado's dugout.

Kershaw would go on to to get the win, allowing two runs on five hits over seven innings. Even so, he was incensed about Anderson causing a minor holdup.

“That was one of the more disrespectful things I have been a part of in a game,” Kershaw said, according to the Denver Post. “I really didn’t appreciate that. The game starts at 7:10 and has started at 7:10 here for a long time. Just go around, or finish earlier. But yeah, that wasn’t appreciated for sure.”

Anderson, when asked about it, explained that he was just getting a few extra practice pitches in before his start.

“It wasn’t intentional at all," Anderson said. "Actually, I was surprised … We were in foul territory and I was surprised that they wouldn’t let him pitch. So we started jogging.”

Calling the sequence "one of the more disrespectful things I have been a part of in a game" seems like a bit of an overreaction. It also got us wondering: What other mundane things have the potential to set the best pitcher in baseball off? We've decided to compile a list of eight things that we can say with 100 percent unfounded conviction grind Kershaw's gears.

  • A student sitting two desks down from him who's repeatedly tapping his foot during their U.S. history final.
  • Toilet paper put on the roll the wrong way.
  • When he's driving on the highway and somebody in the back seat opens the window and it makes that noise.
  • Birds.
  • Kendrick Lamar's verse on "Control".
  • Somebody at the grocery store cutting him off with their cart.
  • Somebody at the grocery store in the express lane with 11 items.
  • Somebody at the grocery store who's walking 10 feet ahead of him who grabs the last damn rotisserie chicken.

We're not sure why this list got so grocery-store heavy at the end there. Or why Kershaw would want a rotisserie chicken. No way he eats that peasant food.
