The Bindery on Blake is moving its 13 artist studios across the street to Backyard on Blake, and they're adding one more studio in the process.

Bindery tenant Davis Partnership needed room to expand, so the Bindery is leasing space from its neighbors at 3040 Blake St.

The new studios will be 200 to 250 square feet, with 30-foot ceilings and, according to a release, plenty of natural light. They'll be leased to visual artists -- but not metal, wood or ceramic artists -- for $600 a month.

That's 30 percent of the market rate, the release says, and the Bindery will subsidize the difference.

The move will happen later this month, and artists interested in renting a studio can do so through Craigslist.
