Work is underway to bring two towers of luxury apartments to a site about 1,000 feet north of the Cherry Creek mall.

The $165 million St. Paul Collection project is expected to include 165 apartments and 51,000 square feet of retail space, according to BMC Investments. The Denver-based real estate investment company expects to complete the project in 2018.

Construction started late last year. Eighty-one units are planned at 210 St. Paul St. in a 25,000-square-foot, eight-story building. Northwest of there, 84 units are planned at 255 St. Paul St. in a 63,750-square-foot, seven-story building.

Living in the St. Paul Collection won't be cheap.

The average apartment at the St. Paul Collection is expected to be between 1,340 square feet and 1,480 square feet with rent ranging from $2,700 to $12,000 per month.

The St. Paul Collection is planned to include 10-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and high-end appliances. The complex will also have onsite parking, a business center, 24-hour concierge service, fitness center and rooftop pools.

“We recognized that there are things people just don’t need or want anymore at a residential building — services and amenities that are associated with luxury apartments but are under used, while others are emerging as must haves," said Matt Joblon, CEO of BMC Investments, in a statement.

BMC is also currently working on the Marriott Moxy in the area. The 170-room hotel is expected to open this fall at 240 Josephine St. A 75,000 square foot office building at Second Avenue and Detroit Street is also currently in the planning phase.
