Hi. I'm not feeling very witty this morning. I'm sure few of us are. Let's talk about what's happening in Colorado this week, from an early snowstorm to the politicians' return to the statehouse.
Beautiful Colorado:
There are some truly wonderful images of Colorado's outdoors in High Country News' yearly photo contest. The winning image from Rocky Mountain National Park is perfect, but I really like the Mount Sneffels photo at No. 9. (High Country)
A lingering storm could put 6 to 10 inches of snow in the mountains today. It was bad enough to shut down Interstate 70 in both directions yesterday. Down here, it's cool and rainy today. Another storm may arrive later this week. (Denverite)
Development:
Dave Sachs examines the political movements that delivered transit and transportation funding in Los Angeles and Seattle. People involved there say that Denver needs a political champion who can convince people that transit is a "must have." (Streetsblog)
