The door to White Whale Room is locked, renovations are underway and the restaurant’s website is no more.

A sign hangs on the former Baker coffee shop, bar restaurant and bar at 415 South Cherokee St. on the ground floor of the Denizen Apartments. It says Close Quarters, another coffee shop, bar and restaurant will take its place — “coming soon.”

The new business is registered to Kyle Wells, who owns Torpedo Coffee in South Park Hill, according to state business records.

Denverite could not reach the owners of White Whale. We’ll update this story if and when we get more information.
