Baseball in the Mile High is back and we're sure Denver is looking forward to cold beers, brats, burgers and Coors Field home runs.
The Rockies will host their first home game Thursday against the Washington Nationals at 2:10 p.m. We've rounded up a handful of places you can celebrate Opening Day in Denver:
Colorado Rockies Pre-Party - McGregor Square (1901 Wazee St)
This is the official pregame destination of the Colorado Rockies. The all day party begins as early as 8 a.m. Milepost Zero will be serving their special purple Rockies Grand Slam Margarita made with El Jimandor tequila, lime, agave and colored with butterfly pea flower tea. The game will be shown on a 66 foot LED screen and the plaza will also host an afterparty with DJ Myxotic & Johnnie Ireland from 5-8 p.m.
Rockies Opening Day Patio Party - Union Station (1701 Wynkoop St)
Union Station will host free, family friendly festivities starting at 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Terminal Bar will kick off the party with music by DJ Tropical Waffle and pictures with Stilt Walkers at a themed photo booth. Other offerings include mini hot dogs and butterfly peak flower infused gin & tonics at Ultreia, oysters at Stoic & Genuine as well as burgers, brats and mimosas at Mercantile.
Rockies Opening Day Pregame - Denver Beer Co. and Cerveceria Colorado (1695 Platte St)
A collaboration between Denver Beer Co. and Cerveceria Colorado will offer free admission to their Platte Street tap rooms for gourmet hot dogs, purple beer, micheladas and giveaways beginning at 11 a.m.
Rockies Opening Day Celebration - Great Divide Brewing (2201 Arapahoe St)
Visit Great Divide Brewing starting at 11 a.m. for $5 lager cans and a $10 special which includes a gourmet hot dog, lager and chips. They will also release a new Beach Milk Project "Six Block walk" Mexican Lager, named after their proximity to the Rockies ballpark.
Rockies Opening Day Menu - Pirate Alley Boucherie (1801 Wynkoop St)
Located inside the Historic Ice House in the Union Station neighborhood, Pirate Alley is back from break with a special opening day menu available from 11-3 p.m. This will include a Fried Shrimp Po'boy, a Cubano sandwich with ham, swiss and mojo pork, and a Pork & Oyster Sausage with spicy brown mustard and a Saltine salad.
Mile High Spirits and In-N-Out (2201 Lawrence St)
An In-N-Out food truck will be at Mile High Spirits starting tomorrow at 11:30 a.m and through the weekend. $20 tickets include an In-N-Out meal and one drink at Mile High Spirits. There will also be live music on the patio from 1-5 p.m. as well as a silent disco from 9-12 a.m.
Blake Street Tavern (2301 Blake St)
The sports bar near Coors Field is officially closing its doors on Sunday, April 9. Opening Day will be one of its last hoorahs since opening in 2003. Enjoy a Green Chile Cheeseburger or a Denver Beer Co Stout Brat among 70 HD TVs just down the street from the action.
Wynkoop Brewing Company (1634 18th Street)
Colorado's Brewpub offers fresh local beer, Bison burgers, Po'Boys and Billiards all in one place. A 7-minute walk from Coors, this could be a good spot to check out before first pitch.
Everyday Pizza (2162 Larimer St)
The Italian eatery will be offering Opening Day sandwiches with Chinese eggplant, tomato, basil garlic, calabrian chili and arugula. Lunch service will run from 12-3 p.m. and happy hour will run from 4-6 p.m.
Cherry Cricket Ballpark (2220 Blake St)
For Cherry Cricket Ballpark, a burger is a must. With a wide selection of cocktails, boozy shakes and beers to choose from, you can pair any burger flavor with a drink of your choice.
