The Denver Center for Performing Arts is looking for volunteers to help with local productions.
If you love theatre, volunteering might be a great way to score complimentary tickets.
Volunteers are expected to work a minimum of two shows per month where they will greet patrons, provide information, distribute programs, direct patrons to their seats and ensure the safety and comfort of guests.
The DCPA's 2023/24 theatre season kicked off Sept. 1 featuring seven mainstage productions. Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage's critically acclaimed comedy "Clyde's" is scheduled to open Oct. 27. World premieres of "Cebollas" and "Rubicon," two productions that came from the 2022 Colorado New Play Summit, are also set to premiere early 2024.
Aside from enjoying performances during their scheduled shifts, volunteers will receive complimentary tickets for locally produced Theatre Company productions, special offers to Off-Center experiences, Broadway and Cabaret performances, 20% off DCPA education classes and other insider opportunities.
Those interested will be expected to:
- Read and interpret tickets in a dimly lit environment
- Arrive 90 minutes prior to curtain time and stay through the duration of a performance
- Utilize technology such as email and a volunteer scheduling platform
- Assist management with a variety of duties including emergency response
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and are expected to participate in an orientation and other safety trainings scheduled throughout the fall.
