The search for Geno the St. Bernard is still going strong more than a week after he went missing during the Cold Springs Fire – and his family's finding hints of optimism.

A "large, wet, St Bernard matching Geno's description," reportedly came up to a house on the 600 block of Four Mile Canyon on Sunday, July 17, according to a new Facebook page for the search.

Anyone who sees Geno is asked to call Katie Albright at 303-956-9320 or the Nederland Fire Station at 303-258-9111. Do not shout to Geno or follow him, as he is very scared.

The Schmidtmann family's other dog, Clyde, also ran away during the fire. He was rescued when he ran in front of a firetruck being driven by one of his owners, both of whom are emergency responders.

Geno's hobbies include the dog park, beef jerky, sleeping in beds and riding in cars.
