July 23 forecast: One Last Heat Dome day, Denver

Heat Dome Log: Day 3.

Alright, Denver one more day of the “heat dome,” and we’re free.

Saturday marks the final day of the weather phenomenon that’s expected to make Denver and much of the central U.S. about 10 degrees warmer than normal.

Today, we’ve got a mostly sunny day with a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. and a high near 97, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain and storms hits a whopping 20 percent before midnight, and it looks like we’ll be freed from the heat dome Sunday when the high will fall to a downright cool 89.
