Country music singer and songwriter Blake Shelton surprised his Denver fans with an unexpected tweet at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The tweet earned 2.4 thousand likes and by 4 p.m., a crowd of nearly as many fans lined up around the block outside of the Denver country venue, Grizzly Rose.

According to 9News, Shelton has been tweeting about impromptu (and free) shows in cities across America all week.

Grizzly Rose Security Manager Barry Arnold told 9News the staff felt overwhelmed, but there were no security risks throughout the day.

“There’s no mistake about that, we are being tested,” Arnold said. “We’ve been here before with other acts, probably not as big as this, but we’re ready for it for the most part.”

The Grizzly Rose maxed out its 2000-person capacity—a few hundred fans were turned away.
