FOXBORO, Mass. — Juan Agudelo and Chris Tierney scored and the New England Revolution beat the Colorado Rapids 2-0 on Saturday night to end a six-game winless streak.
The Revolution (7-12-9) had been shutout four straight times.
Agudelo opened the scoring — and ended New England’s scoring drought — in the 12th minute. Lee Nguyen, on the right side of the box, dropped a header to a streaking Gershon Koffie who tapped it to Agudelo for the finish off the far post.
Tierney found the top-right corner of the net in the 49th. Kelyn Rowe flicked it to Diego Fagundez who, from the top of the box, hit a wide-open Tierney at the corner of the 6-yard box to double the advantage.
Brad Knight had his second shutout of the season, including a diving stop of a close-range shot by Dillon Powers in the 18th minute, for the Revolution.
