Colorado's second largest craft brewer Oskar Blues Brewery is about to get even bigger.
The Longmont-based brewery became the first Colorado craft brewer selling in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., this year. By early 2017, the company wants to be in 14 countries.
"Our strategy is about getting our beer in as many hands as we can and to get it as far out as we can," said Jeremy Farmer, creative director at the brewery.
Oskar Blues is already selling in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This week, the company started putting Dale's Pale Ales in the hands of Puerto Ricans.
Before the end of the year, the company wants to hit Belgium, Chile, Luxembourg, Spain and the Netherlands.
Brazil, Japan and New Zealand are expected to be added to the distribution list in early 2017.
"After launching the canned craft beer movement in the U.S. we're ready to push boundaries around the globe," said Chris Russell, business development director of Oskar Blues, in a statement. "As American craft beer travels worldwide we want to challenge the perception of cans once again."
Oskar Blues is on pace to pass 215,000 barrels in 2016 after achieving 30 percent growth in 2015. The company has about 200 employees — 100 in Colorado and the rest at its facilities in Texas and North Carolina, Farmer said.
