Downhill skier Lindsey Vonn broke her arm training Thursday. She was skiing at Copper Mountain and "severely fractured" the humerus bone in her right arm, she wrote in a Facebook post.
Vonn, who lives in Vail, is the winningest female skier in World Cup history with 76 victories. She has also won two Olympic medals, one gold and one bronze.
There is no timetable on her return, according to John Meyer of the Denver Post.
“I had successful surgery night in Vail and everyone took great care of me,” Vonn wrote on Facebook. “While I am beyond frustrated by this latest setback, at least my knees are OK and I will return to the slopes as soon as possible, as I always do! Thank you for the continued love and support, it means so much to me.”
