Colorado's high country is seeing snowflakes and skiers as resorts start to open for the season.
During the last 24 hours, up to 13 inches blanketed resorts across Colorado, according to Colorado Ski Country USA. The powder is needed after some of the state's most popular resorts were forced to delay their opening days due to unusually warm weather.
Three resorts are open as of Friday.
Copper Mountain opened for the season Friday with an 18 inch base and 6 inches of fresh powder. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland guests were enjoying 7 inches of snow Friday morning at each resort, Colorado Ski Country USA said in a release.
The nonprofit trade association reports Purgatory will open Saturday with mountain biking available in the morning and skiing after 1 p.m.

- Aspen Mountain, Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Snowmass and Wolf Creek Ski Area — Nov. 24
- Howelsen Hill — Nov. 26
- Eldora Mountain Resort, Monarch Mountain — TBD (Late November)
- Telluride Ski Resort — TBD (Early December)
- Sunlight Mountain Resort — Dec. 9
- Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, Cooper — Dec. 10
- Powderhorn — Dec. 15
- Granby Ranch — Dec. 17
- Silverton — Dec. 29
But be warned the above dates are subject to change. Most runs aren't open until December or January according to Colorado Public Radio. The news organization compiled a list of the latest opening dates for the resorts here.
