A painting project to beautify the 38th Street underpass will finish up this Saturday, Dec. 10, maybe with the help of you and a few dozen friends.

Pat Milbery and Jason Graves are the artists leading the mural's creation. The paint-job will be followed later by a light fixture to make the dark underpass safer for pedestrians. The underpass runs beneath the rail lines near the 38th and Blake rail station.

No need to RSVP. The event runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Bring clothes you don't mind ruining, and comfortable shoes. About 100 people showed up last weekend, the Denver Post reported.

RiNo Art District, a community development organization, is working with funding from the Blue Moon Brewing Company and the city itself, with help from City Build Denver, on the beautification project.
