Interstate 70 is open in both directions this morning, Jan. 11, following a day of avalanche closures. The traction law is in effect, meaning your passenger vehicle must have snow tires, snow/mud tires or a traction device, such as chains.

U.S. 40 through Berthoud Pass to Winter Park and beyond is open.

U.S. 6 through Loveland Pass is closed, and as a consequence so is Arapahoe Basin for some time today.

The National Weather Service predicts snow will continue across the northern and central mountains through Friday. The high mountains could get 12 to 22 inches today alone, and much of the high country is under avalanche warning.
