Things to do in Denver today, Jan. 25: Test Kitchen 2.0, 3 Course Comedy, pie and beer

The second show in the new Test Kitchen series goes down tonight at The Black Box, 314 E. 13th Ave., where local MCs will bring new music to the stage for you and a panel of A&R pros.

On the lineup: BlackBuddha, Kruza Kid, Chris Jones, Nick Zoellner, Queen Jay Triiiple, Taylor May, Luke Skyy, Ceejay Franchize, Patrick Rose, Shaun Mercier and NinaNine. 

There's no cover and doors are at 9 p.m. 


3 Course Comedy is celebrating four years of dishing out comedy and food tonight at The Deer Pile, 206 E. 13th Ave.

The show will feature Caitie Hannan, Geoff Tice, Cory Helie and special guest host Matt Cobos. The meal will be a potluck, so bring some food.

The feast starts at 8 p.m. and the comedy starts at 8:30 p.m.


Time for another gut-stuffing round of pie and beer pairings with The Long I Pie Shop at Black Shirt Brewing Co., 3719 Walnut St.

On the menu this evening:

  • Forager (mushrooms, goat cheese and thyme) with the 10W bourbon barrel-aged Stringbender saison.
  • Chocolate Chess Pie (brownie in a pie crust) with the Timekeeper rye pale ale.
  • Honey Flower (salted honey lavender) with the Fourtack porter.
  • Grandma's Pie (spiced apple cranberry) with the Born To Hula tropical sour.

They'll be serving from 6 to 9 p.m. and the cost is $20.
