Best bet: I'm An Artist relaunch party. The MCA Denver is the first museum in Colorado to get funding to underwrite memberships for working artists. It provided 1,000 free memberships to local artists in the first year and is now opening applications for another 800 members. The party will feature the "time decoration with ambient music and sound" performance from Vules Jerne. Museum of Contemporary Art, 1485 Delgany St. 5-9 p.m. Penny admission.

An Evening with John James Audubon. Historic actor Brian “Fox” Ellis portrays John James Audubon through Audubon’s journals, essays, and letters. Denver Museum of Nature & Science, 2001 Colorado Blvd. 6-7:30 p.m. $18.
