If you still haven't been to check out Stanley Marketplace yet, here's a good reason to get a move on.

Caroline Glover, former sous chef at Acorn in Denver and The Spotted Pig in New York, has taken on her first gig as executive chef inside her own restaurant, Annette.

The restaurant -- named for the aunt who taught Glover "how to have an opinion -- started serving "scratch-to-table," wood-fired fare on the front side of Stanley Marketplace (right next to Yellowbelly Chicken) last week.

You should definitely make a reservation.

This was the room at 9 p.m. It's not a very big space, and in its first week of business, evenings were all but booked-up a day in advance.

First, a toast.

I had a really great glass of cabernet sauvignon that I might need to start ordering by the case and my date had this scarily easy to drink cognac concoction, the Creole Contentment.

Now order a whole bunch of things.

They're small plates designed for sharing, so start modestly and know you can always get more if you're still hungry.

Neither of us was very hungry, so we kept it to three things:

The spiced lentils and burrata.

The french fries.

And, my favorite, the potato, sunchoke and raclette au gratin. I'd go back for this one alone.

Had I been hungrier, I probably would have gone for the half roasted chicken. Had I been hungrier and feeling a little adventurous, I would have gone for the grilled beef tongue.

And if, for once, I had bothered to pace myself and leave room for desert, I would have ordered the pecan pie. (Pecan pie is the best pie. Don't @ me.)
