Denver police have taken 19-year-old Nathan Valdez into custody in connection with the fatal shooting and robbery at the Sheridan light-rail station.

He is being held for investigation of first-degree murder, according to the department.

Valdez is the second suspect in an early morning robbery in the 1100 block of Sheridan Boulevard on Feb. 7 that ended in the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Tim Cruz.

The first suspect, 19-year-old Ever Valles, was arrested on Feb. 9, the Denver Post reported. He told police Valdez was the one who shot and killed Cruz.

Valles also told a detective that Valdez shot him afterward, saying, “You saw too much.”

The Post also reported that someone told investigators he was recently with the suspects and that they were wearing the same masks and backpacks. He also showed them Valles' Facebook page.
