The Denver Police Department is investigating a shooting near Colfax Avenue and Valentia Street.
One person was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound and is in critical condition, according to police.
Multiple people have been detained and one lane of Colfax is closed east bound.
According to CBS Denver, police have blocked off the street between Orlando's Apartments and the Regis Motel, which are on Colfax either side of Valentia.
Orlando's Apartments happen to be across the street from the Airway Motel, where pregnant 23-year-old Quinasia Russell was killed in a shooting in October of last year.
