Brighton Boulevard construction to get more annoying soon

Brighton Boulevard under much construction. (Kevin J. Beaty/Denverite)
I’ve recently been avoiding Brighton Boulevard anywhere northeast of 37th Street, and I would advise you do the same.
As we’ve reported, Brighton is getting a major remodel, but construction on the mile-long project is naturally pretty disruptive.
Currently, you’re stuck with one lane in each direction from 29th to 44th streets. To make matters even slower, northbound traffic will be cut off altogether from 40th to 44th as early as mid-April, which will require a detour.
Meanwhile, left-turn lanes have been temporarily closed at 38th and Brighton. You can still turn from the travel lane, but the loss of the turn lanes means longer delays at the light.
Also, leave extra time for parking in the area, as on-street parking is not allowed along the entirety of the project right now.
Pedestrians still can use the road, but you’re limited to the east side from 31st to 38th and the west side from 29th to 31st. All businesses remain open and accessible.
I’d highly recommend that you sign up for the city’s email newsletter on the project, which is where I got all this information.
