A study of federal data finds that women in computing and mathematics make about 94 percent of their male colleagues' salaries in Denver.
That pay gap is about 10 percentage points smaller than the average for the 59 cities in a new report from mortgage company SmartAsset, based on the statistically valid data of the U.S. Census' American Community Survey.
However, that pay gap is proving persistent and has widened in Denver since last year, as it did nationwide.
Meanwhile, Denver lags in gender parity. Women make up about 24 percent of the tech workforce in the most recent data, just less than the 26 percent average in the 59 cities that were assessed. Women, of course, make up roughly half of the general population.
Overall, SmartAsset ranked Denver eighth overall for women in tech, tying it with Detroit.
