Just days after Zengo abruptly ended its 14-year run at 1610 Little Raven St., we have an answer to the big question: Who will move in?
Wayward, a "vegetable-focused" restaurant from the team behind The Way Back and American Grind, is slated to open this fall.
An executive chef has yet to be hired, but we know the veggie-happy menu will be (say it with me now) responsibly sourced from local farmers, according to the new operators. The bar offerings will be largely focused on whiskey.
The team -- Chad Michael George, Kade Gianinetti and Jared Schwartz -- plan to again remodel the recently remodeled space to brighten it up in white, green and blue, including some fresh new plants.
The former Zengo space will seat 150 people, and Wayward will use the former home of La Guerra as a dine-in and grab-and-go breakfast and lunch restaurant and coffee shop.
