From the people who brought you a giant taco party comes another event in which you can eat excessive amounts of one type of food and also get drunk alongside hundreds of other people.

This time, it’s chicken.

“Chicken Fight!” will host more than 40 local restaurants in a competition to serve the best “wings, fried chicken, and overall chicken dishes” in River North.

There also will be “unlimited” cocktail tastings. It happens on the evening of Thursday, May 25 at 3715 Chestnut Place, near the Blue Moon Brewing Co. restaurant.

The event is organized by the producers of Top Taco and Denver Food & Wine Festival, according to its website.

Tickets range from $65 to $125, with pricier options getting you earlier entrance and other such perks. You can also get discount tickets on GroupOn through today, May 16.

Participating restaurants include Welton St. Cafe (chicken pictured above), Biju’s Little Curry Shop, Brider, Park Burger and really just a ton more.

Categories include best fried chicken, best barbecue, best wings, best overall dish and best cocktail.

I once went to a taco-themed version of this — I don’t remember which one, but I got in for free. It was more fun than I expected. Everyone behaved themselves, I ate lots of stuff and I didn’t see any vomit. Good luck.
