The Big Wonderful, which this year switched to a seasonal schedule, announced the dates and locations for its summer and fall festivals.
First up is The Big Wonderful Summer Weekend at Stanley Marketplace (2501 Dallas St., Aurora), July 7-9. After that: Oktobergrass is at the Old Denver Post Building in Globeville (4400 Fox St.) on Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
The Summer Weekend kicks off with a beer festival featuring 50 craft beverages, barbecue from Rolling Smoke and live music from My Blue Sky (an Allman Brothers Band tribute); Canyon Collected pickin’ on Blind Melon; and Tori Pater and pickin’ on dad rock.
Saturday's tributes include 40 oz to Freedom pickin’ on Sublime, Chain Station pickin’ on Tom Petty and Jim Sullivan pickin’ on Ween. The Big Wonderful will also bring back the Night Bazaar (vendors and food trucks).
Sunday will bring the Day Bazaar, plus music from Wake Up and Live (a Bob Marley Tribute); Pistols & Petticoats pickin’ on Madonna; and Wish You Were Pink (a Pink Floyd Tribute).
Details for Oktobergras are yet to come, but you can probably imagine what that will look and sound like: People pickin' on stuff.
Tickets for the Summer Weekend festival are on sale now for $5-45 (depending on what kind of access you want).
