Competition for an affordable Denver home is indeed tough.
Four out of the five highest overbids on Denver homes last week sold for $300,000 or less. These four new Denver homeowner all paid at least 10 percent about list price.
Last week, about 38 percent of all the people who bought a home paid more than its asking price. The differences ranged from $50 extra to a full $55,000 more.

- 3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, 1,728 square feet
- Sold for $440,000, 14.3 percent above asking price

- 3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, 917 square feet
