Someone threw a brick through the front window of the Denver Cat Company early Thursday morning, the business posted on Facebook. All the cats are alright though:
"Luckily no cats were harmed and no cats got out, but they all just hid after it happened, so they were scared," said employee Amy Westcott. "They're totally fine now, though."
Westcott said that the business found out Thursday morning when police called the owner. They're still figuring out what it will cost to fix the window, adding to an already stressful month.
"Based on the number of cats we have, we had to switch the type of facility we are," Westcott explained. "We had to get rid of anything carpeted, we had to get brand new cat trees, we had to replace a lot of furniture."
Plus, as an employee, Westcott said it was a bummer to see that anyone would do something that harms a small, local business on Tennyson Street.
"It's just added a lot of stress," she said. "It just adds another unnecessary thing for a small local business to be dealing with.
