A new set of for-sale housing less than 10 minutes walk from the W Line's Sheridan Station has begun construction.
And by spring 2018, some of the 176 rowhomes and duplexes of West Line Village will be ready for occupancy, says builder DIRC Homes.
The homes at W. 10th Avenue and Depew Street range in size from 788 to 1,750 square feet, and include studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts. All include some type of garage and outdoor space, according to the team behind the development, which includes Trailbreak Partners and T.O.D. Properties.
Other design elements include street-facing units, in contrast to the much-denounced slot home design, and dedicated space for outdoor gear.
Prices start in the "upper" $200,000, though the Denver Post has reported that the average prices is higher, in the mid-$300,000s.
Lakewood Mayor Adam Paul has voiced support for the development as an "attainably-priced" development.
"West Line Village exemplifies our community’s commitment to keeping the character of our city intact as we approve new housing options, as part of our balanced approach to growth," he said in a statement.
The first phase is nearly sold out, says the development team, and the second phase of sales is expected to open in early 2018.
