If you don’t know Chicano Batman, and somehow the name alone isn’t enough to pique your curiosity, here’s some Brazilian Tropicalía flavored psychedelic soul for you to try out.

They’re at the Gothic Theatre, 3263 S. Broadway. Doors are at 7 p.m. and the show kicks off with The Shacks at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22.

Over at the Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Ave. Parkway, the Logan Lecture series welcomes Chido Johnson, whose work “persistently locates cultural spaces identified as other and different in an attempt to transform and negotiate a new sense of self, place and belonging.”

The one-hour talk starts at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a reception with Johnson at the ART Hotel. Admission is free for DAMC members and students with valid ID, $10 for DAM volunteers, $15 for DAM members and $20 for non-members.

And it’s time again for the Ratio Comedy Battle Royale at Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer St.

Twelve comedians will face off in a bracket-style competition at 8 p.m. The beer costs money but the jokes are free.
