Wazee Supper Club’s days in Denver are coming to an end.
After 43 years at Wazee and 15th streets, the restaurant will close to make way for a contemporary French restaurant, Morin.
Wazee Supper Club will shut its doors for good before the year is out. Culinary Creative Group — the team that brought the Highlands Señor Bear, Bar Dough and Highland Tap and Burger — plans to open Morin in the spring.
“For decades, this restaurant and neighborhood have acted as a hub for business people, tourists, politicians, athletes, students and residents alike,” Juan Padro of Culinary Creative Group said in a press release. “We are excited by the opportunity to partner with St. Charles, Josh Comfort and Charlie [Woolley], who is such a historic figure in the community, on the iconic project. We’re looking forward to honoring Wazee Supper Club’s heritage and carrying the torch, becoming a part of the historic, yet ever-changing Lodo neighborhood.”
