Want to build community through a neighborhood summer block party or a park picnic? Now’s your chance.
Denver Days, the city program that helps fund neighborhood events, is returning from July 31 to Aug. 9 this year. The city is offering to waive permits and fees for up to 50 parties as part of the program.
Typically, a park picnic permit costs either $51 or $97, depending on whether it is sheltered or unsheltered. Block party permits are free, but barricades to close off the street usually cost extra. Those fees are waived during Denver Days.
In years past, neighborhood associations, library branches and local Denverites just hankering for a summer party have organized events for Denver Days.
Applications for Denver Days close on June 30. Scheduled parties can be found on Denver’s event calendar.
