The restaurant chain Snarf's plans to open two stores in northwestern Denver. Both new locations - one will serve burgers, the other sandwiches -- will stand near West 26th Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

A Snarfburger will replace a former check-cashing business at 2535 Federal Boulevard. Snarf's Sandwiches will move into the former home of a marijuana dispensary at 2527 Federal Boulevard.

Both locations will open in 2018, according to Holly Moran, company spokeswoman. This will be the first Snarfburger in Denver. Snarf's is based in Boulder.

And our photographer, Kevin Beaty, just told me that Snarfburger is his favorite burger joint ever. He really likes the regular burger, but he says the veggie is phenomenal.

"I'm very excited that we're going to have another walkable business," said Leslie Twarogowski, executive director of the Federal Boulevard Business Improvement District.

The shops will be in one of the denser sections of Federal Boulevard, although the business district is still divided by the avenue's four fast-rushing lanes of traffic. A popular Santiago's Mexican Restaurant eatery stands nearby

Earlier this year, Adrian outlined some of the major projects coming to Federal.
