Kevin Taylor adds another spot to his restaurant group next week, and this one is calling to the downtown business crowd.
Mila opens Sept. 4, ready to serve Mediterranean-inspired food from executive chef and partner Austin Cueto.
Cueto has been with the Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group for a while now. He's spent more than a decade combined at Restaurant Kevin Taylor, Palettes at the Denver Art Museum and Kevin Taylor’s at the Opera House. He's also headed up the culinary side of catering for the DAM. At Mila, he's built a menu that offers house-made pasta, pizza, fresh seafood, salads, crudo and more. Signature dishes include pork belly porchetta with Israeli couscous and oyster mushrooms; a harissa lamb burger with cured tomato, feta and red beet ketchup; roasted branzino with farro; and spicy lamb sausage pizza with goat cheese, fennel and rosemary.
“I’ve enjoyed growing with Kevin Taylor Restaurant Group over the last decade, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to conceive, construct and introduce this new concept in partnership with the group,” said Cueto. “From the menu to the design, Mila will be a Mediterranean escape in the heart of downtown Denver.”
Located on the ground floor of Denver Place, 999 18th St. (the same building as Syrup), Mila has a spacious 6,000 square feet including a roomy patio that seats 60. It's also got a 700-square-foot wine cellar available for private events. Denver Place, according to a press release, has a state-of-the-art conference center, an indoor bike lock-up, showers and lockers, a fitness center and indoor and outdoor "collaboration areas."
Mila will be open for dinner Monday through Saturday starting Sept. 4, and for lunch Monday through Friday starting Sept. 10.
