South Broadway is getting a new restaurant at the site of a former storied BBQ joint.

Cochino Taco will open its second site at the former Gary Lee's Motor Club & Grub location at 176 South Broadway. The restaurant's owner, Gary Lee Bomar, died in a car crash in Mexico in 2015.

Cochino Taco Owner Johnny Ballen, who owned the Squeaky Bean downtown before it closed, was working on-site at the restaurant Friday, preparing for its grand opening. He said an opening date is still not set, despite the "opening soon" sign out front.

The South Broadway location will be Cochino Taco's second. It has another restaurant in Englewood.
