CRUSH Walls has announced the artists who will be contributing to the festival this year. And in spite of COVID-19, the list once again includes a mix of both locals and visitors.
The festival's coordinators have hand-picked contributors from all over the country, including some familiar faces like Jodie Herrera and Max Sansing, who already have murals up around town. The festival will also feature several well-known local artists, like Detour, Chelsea Lewinski, Anthony Garcia, DREAD and Lindee Zimmer.
Every year during CRUSH, dozens of artists take over RiNo, transforming the art district's streets and alleys into accessible, open-air art galleries. The festival allows visitors to see the artists at work, and also leaves behind artwork that can be viewed long after the festival ends. This year, the event will also feature a Spray Can Bar, a walk-up bar where patrons can grab a drink as they watch the artists paint (cans only).
The festival's coordinators are also taking safety into account. Because of COVID-19, they will space artists even more than in previous years and set up sanitation stations throughout RiNo. Festival-goers will be asked to wear face coverings, and all ticketed indoor events have been cancelled.
CRUSH Walls 2020 will take place in RiNo September 14-20. For the full lineup, check out the festival's website.
