DPD says dead man found after daytime burglary in Montclair owned the house, and the suspect officers shot has died
A woman was found inside wounded by a gunshot, but she is alive.

Ron Thomas, division chief with the Denver Police Department, updates the press on Dec. 28, 2020.
A burglary in Montclair on Monday ended with two dead men and a seriously injured woman, according to the Denver Police Department.
One deceased person, found shot outside a home near 9th Avenue and Monaco Parkway around midday yesterday, owned the home being burgled, DPD said. The other person who died was shot by DPD officers after he tried to carjack someone near the incident, according to police. DPD believes the burglary and the attempted carjacking are related.
Police found a third shooting victim inside the home. She is in the hospital in “critical condition,” according to DPD.
Police have not publicly identified the victims. Denver’s medical examiner typically make names of deceased people public following autopsies.
DPD arrested one man fleeing the scene Monday, but another person got away, possibly in a black Honda sedan. DPD wants anyone with information about the incident to call 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
