A huge portion of Colfax around the Carla Madison Rec Center has been blocked off by police tape, about a block from East High School, as police investigate a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Two victims were sent to the hospital, according to a spokesman with the Denver Police Department. Their injuries are unknown. The spokesperson said they were unable to confirm a third possible victim, contrary to earlier reports by DPD Twitter.

Police say the shooting occurred outside on the 2400 block of East Colfax. They say the suspect is still at large. However, police were not able to confirm the number of suspects.
